A great documentary about the building with plenty of technical information / imagery. A good find & worth a watch!

Have completely modelled the full elevation now and overlayed the CAD line drawing with the 3D. Result us good [extracy below] just need to think about how to present the piece. I’m torn between making it look ‘real’ with dirt maps / reflection etc or keep it a simple illustration. Ill experiment and post some options.

Ive always admired the design of the Pompidou centre in Paris, particularly the rear elevation which exposes the buildings services. The complexity and mass of the building interest me particularly. I have been after copies of the original elevations for some time but with little success.
So…. I decided to create them myself! Focussing on the rear elevation im trying to create as detailed and accurate a drawing as possible to take up space on a long wall in my house. The image above is a snap shot of where i am at. The image is actually a rendered SketchUp model which i created from my 2D CAD drawing. I am currently drawing up the entire elevation in CAD with the view to model it in sketchUp, remder in maxwell and then finish in Photoshop. Blending the 2D CAD with a 3D render created a crisp image with lots of depth. Its taking me forever but im making progress and confident that it will look great. Ill keep you posted.
